Planning the excursion
Before leaving we must plan important aspects such as which route we will follow and the estimated time it will take to complete it. This is key if we don't want to run the risk of having the night out there.
It is also essential to be aware of the weather forecast. You must take into account the temperature conditions, the possibility of rain, etc. that you are likely to encounter, when making your rucksack or choosing your route. If the forecast is that the conditions are going to be very extreme, it is surely better not to take risks and postpone the departure for a better occasion.
If we do not know the route or the area we will be moving through - and even if we do know it, it is also advisable - we will take a map or guide that provides as much detail as possible. Technological devices such as GPS are also very useful, but you must bear in mind that you may run out of battery power or it may sometimes break down.
There are very useful websites on the Internet, such as Wikiloc, which will help us to choose and know a route beforehand.
